UMASS Boston professor Taylor Stoehr will present the words of Goodman and commentary from his new edited collection The Paul Goodman Reader (pm press, 2011). Paul Goodman, known in his day as “the philosopher of the new left”, set the agenda for the youth movement of the Sixties with his bestselling Growing Up Absurd.
Stoehr, Goodman’s friend and literary executor, has edited many volumes of his fiction and social commentary. He has also published numerous studies of Goodman’s community planning, media, psychotherapy, and radical politics.
