Join us for the launch of two new books from Wakefield Press. Andrew Joron will be reading from his translation, The Perpetual Motion Machine: The Story of an Invention by Paul Scheerbart, originally published in Germany in 1910. A novelist and exponent of glass architecture, Scheerbart attempted to invent a perpetual motion machine and imagined futures that the invention would enable. Joron will discuss the work of Scheerbart as well as read from his new volume of poetry published by City Lights.
Marc Lowenthal will read from his translation of the Surrealist classic, The Leg of Lamb: Its Life and Works by Benjamin Peret.
